Preparing blog posts

Over the weekend, when I got the idea for Monday’s blog post, I opened and labelled a file “MondayBlog.” It then occurred to me that if I had a file for each day of the week it would make for a much easier time in preparing posts. So, when I was done posting on Monday, I erased the post from my file, left it blank, but kept the file for next time. Then I proceeded to make a file for each day of the week. TuesBlog, WedBlog, etc. It’s not often that I have an overflowing amount of blog post ideas, so I’m sure the 7 files will be enough.

Do you prepare blog posts in advance? How many do you normally have?
And how do you organize them for yourself?

Are you kidding me? I do good to post on my blogs, much less daily. Although, if I set up a system similar to yours I could (theoretically) write the blogs when I think of them then they'd be ready to post. If I did that I could probably post more often in both blogs.

I don't normally have anything done in advance. I am trying to get more organized, it just hasn't happened yet.

That's a great system, I may try it once I figure out what I want to do when!

I don't blog every single day, but this system works for whenever I do want to post something.
And maybe if I ever get a bunch of ideas and don't want to lose them.
I'm a very organized person, so this is something that keeps in line with that.
But I do like to update my blog as often as possible.

Thanks for the comments!

Your idea is a good one! Sometimes I prepare entries ahead of time and I'll often have four or five ready to go. I put them into an email and save it as a draft then when I'm ready to post it, I read it over, edit, copy and paste.
