Where do you like to write? Are you strictly a computer/laptop person? Do you have a cozy chair that you write in?
For me, I don’t do much writing at the computer. I type things out here, mainly. Although lately I have been known to outline article ideas on paper, and then writing them out on the computer. It’s just quicker that way. But for the most part, I love to write on the couch. It’s comfy. And I love to write on paper. I have all my books by my side, and a hot cup of tea. Perfect. I also have a view outside, which is nice.
I have been trying my hand at bits and pieces of fiction lately also and though I’m doing that in a notebook currently, I wonder when/if I ever decide to do a novel, if I will find it quicker to write straight on the computer. I’ll cross that bridge when/if I ever come to it. If you write books, where do you write them?
Usually, I don’t even turn on the computer until I am ready to come online (which let’s admit doesn’t take too long). Blog entries are the one thing I do write directly on my computer, always.
So, tell us about your most loved writing spot.

I used to write sitting in a comfy chair right at my computer armoire. Now that I have a laptop, I usually sit in a chair with my feet propped up and type away. I prefer typing directly on the computer, wherever I'm sitting. For me, it makes more sense, takes less time, and is just quicker. I still love to write in a notebook too, though. I think it's just personal preference. Whatever feels most comfortable to you and works best for you is what you should stick with. :-)

Michele, I often think that if I had a laptop I would write more directly on the computer because I could move it around to whichever place I'm in the mood for at the moment. ;) I never stick with just one place. One day I might be in the mood to write at the dining table, sometimes at the computer desk. But mostly on the couch. I'd love to have my very own comfy chair, right by the window, lamp, little table for tea :) Maybe one day!
Well, I just got my laptop. I'm quite pleased with it. I'm amazed at how different life is now with being able to move away from just that one spot. Being stuck in front of a desktop is no fun! I waited a long time, though. I was going to post about it already, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
And, just for the record, comfy chairs don't have to be new or cost a lot of money!

When editing, I always print out so I can use my red pen and clipboard. I sit in my lazyboy with my legs tucked under me.
When writing a first draft, I'm at the computer. I don't type super fast, but at about 60 or 70 words a minute, I'm just plain more efficient at the computer. Since I'm 42 years old, I'm all about efficiency.
I do have a beloved notebook that I write in at work. I wish they made those black and white composition books small enough for purses. I love those and I'd carry one with me all the time.
My problem with writing at the computer too is that I get so distracted by the internet. It's better for me altogether if I leave the computer off until I seriously want to come online. Once I'm online I am glued there for a while. Somehow though I got into the habit of turning off the computer at 2pm though and not on again until the evening, if at all.
But I really do love writing on good old paper. I sometimes think about if I had lived like 40 years ago and been a writer. I would have loved all of the sending things by snail mail, typing out works neatly. I was so born at the wrong time ;)
Laptop and couch. With the TV on... :)
I used to be able to write with the tv on, but these days I find myself staring at it and realizing an hour later that I haven't written a word lol
